Today call your local municipality to find out about special pick up days for hazardous materials, such as oil, paint or batteries. Make a note in your planner for two weeks before that date to start clearing out the garage, basement, crawl spaces – anywhere where these things may have landed around your house. Create a landing zone away from kids and pets so you will be ready on the pickup day. Make sure you mark it the day before in your planner too so you don’t miss it in case it’s in the morning!
