my advice:
Don’t get overwhelmed by your long list of to do’s. Ditch perfection and go after the most important things that have to get done.

my to-do list habits

I carry around with me a small lined notebook that I use to jot down all of my to-do’s, notes, and ideas. I write down my to do’s at the beginning of every week and star the items on the list that must get done first. Then, when I have finished a task, I love to boldly cross it off my list. When I do this, I feel like a small weight has been lifted off my shoulders and there is one less thing to think about that week.

a little about me

Hollie is a graduate of the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York City where she majored in Communication Design with a strong emphasis in identity/corporate design and advertising. Prior to joining Buttoned Up, inc., she was employed part-time at Gianettino & Meredith Advertising Agency in Short Hills, NJ. She has been with Buttoned Up since its inception and has truly led the design direction of their entire product line.

She thrives off the idea of designing with ease of use in mind, and believes that there are many products in society today that make living everyday life more stressful, complicated, and confusing because they aren’t “designed with convenience for the user.” Instead, she notes, “our products are designed to actually make you want to get organized.”

Hollie currently lives with one roommate in Morristown, New Jersey. Her life right now is full of firsts (first job, first apartment, first car, first furniture purchases) and the organizational challenges that come with the territory. Fortunately, she’s naturally neat and meticulous about staying on top of her to-do’s, so she’s always cool, calm and collected.

  • facebook.com

Addicting. Brings out the stalker in me.

  • kaboodle.com

I love to discover new things and this is the best site to find, share and recommend new and cool products.

  • bettycrocker.com

I love to bake, and if you ever need a great recipe, the “Prize-Winning Recipes” on this site are the best bet.

  • MacBook Pro

Work, communicate, play, shop, imagine, dream, listen, explore...it's the center of my universe.

    iPod

Not only does it make my 2 hour commute every day bearable, it also acts as an external hard drive for backing up my files.

a few of our favorite things

  • Receipt.catcher , $9.95

I can't even tell you the number of times I wanted to return something but couldn't because I lost the receipt! Now with the Receipt.catcher, all of my receipts are together and organized. The Receipt.catcher has a nice filing system with tabbed sections to keep receipts for groceries, clothes, gifts, and more. Because I am so busy during the week, I also love that it has plenty of room to pile the receipts so I can come back to sort later, like on the weekends. It's the perfect size - I keep one on my nightstand and one at work.

  • Tax.filer, $19.95

The Tax.filer is perfect for a first timer! I had to file my own taxes for the first time this year and this filing system makes it easy to understand! It wrangles all of my forms and uses plain English like "Money In," "Money Out," and "Money Saved." It also includes removable checklist tabs that make it easy to save and record your tax receipts and records.

  • Habit.former, $6.95

I just love the idea behind this little box of cards! If you're struggling to be more organized like me, the Habit.former is perfect for you. All you do is take out one card a day for 30 days and you'll accomplish things like "delegate three tasks this week" or "organize your birthday and anniversary list." Before I knew it, my daily routine felt more organized and under control and less stressful. I also gave one to my mom for her birthday and plan on putting them in my sisters' stockings for the holiday!
