5 ways to de-stress without stuffing your face

Laughter! When I get really stressed, it helps me to take a minute to talk to a friend, and they can say something funny enough to make me laugh, it’s like an immediate release of all of the pressure. I know that laughing produces endorphins, and there has been a lot of research supporting laughter as a means of promoting general good health. If I can’t contact a friend, then I’ll look for a cartoon or joke somewhere.

Also, my version of “organizing a small area” is to play a quick game of Solitaire.

I turn the TV off and listen to WBGL Christian Music station. And I try to start my day eating breakfast on the deck if weather permits.

Awesome point! And if you are blessed with a really funny husband (or good funny friends) like I am – it is definitely easy to do. But if you don’t, you could always go check out YouTube for a clip of a funny comedian or AFV… Thanks for the suggestion!

Love that breakfast outside idea – that IS such a great way to ground yourself to what’s real/what matters. And music is also a great – free – way to change your mood! Thanks for adding the suggestions.
