I have two boys both oh whom have diagnosed executive functioning issues. When they are struggling with memory, organization and processing it takes away from their ability to then focus on what the true task at hand should be…the actually homework or the assignments themselves. Think about how much energy is wasted trying to remember, “What did I do with my…? Or…Where is my….? Or….Was that due….?”. I found the Soar program on my own about 4 years ago and it changed our lives. I have tweaked a few things that didn’t work for us, but we have used it since 4th grade and are now using it in middle school and plan to continue using it through high school. I am in no way affiliated with SOAR, just a mom who wanted to make homework time a little easier.
