Cool Find: Training Dresser

This is by far the coolest children’s dresser I’ve ever seen!

Designed by Peter Bristol, the Training Dresser (as it is called) has drawers that are shaped as their predetermined contents.

The piece comes in two gender specific designs. Beautiful, fun, promotes tidiness, made from all kid-friendly components.

Here is how the designer describes it: ‘Like Dr. Suess and Pixar, the Training Dresser is for more than one audience. The informative drawers create an engaging dresser for kids and an iconic furniture piece for parents.’

It will put a dent in your wallet though, at $1500/dresser.

What do YOU think – would this be cool forever or would your tykes outgrow it quickly?

This is indeed cool, but the “gender specific” idea turns me off. When I was a girl I hardly ever wore skirts or dresses. So should I have had a “boys” dresser?

A much cheaper alternative would be to find a used dresser, paint it and then paint the same type of objects on the drawers. This would serve the same purpose and be way more practical.

I did something similar to this with a small bookcase when my son was young. I outlined his toys on the shelves so he would be able to match up where his toys belonged.
