Cool Find: Myself Belt
I must say I came across a banner ad for Myself Belts a few months ago and instantly was intrigued by what I saw.
Even though Lucy is 7 years old she still has trouble buckling her belts and making sure that they don’t fall in the toilet or get lost. Myself Belts was the perfect answer to this. I only wish I had found them even earlier. Sure I have tried the regular Velcro belts which are fine but most are not (as Lucy would say) stylish. Myself Belts are.
Lucy went on line with me and picked her favorite, The Peace Belt, that Myself Belt sent us to try out. It took her a long time to pick out just the right one and she already has two more she wants to get soon. We then waited for the package to arrive. I was pleasantly surprised that when it did, the belt was wrapped in yellow tissue paper and ready to give as is for a gift if we wanted to. Lucy promptly grabbed her dark jeans to give the new belt a whirl. She had no trouble figuring out how to use and was very happy as she looked at herself in the mirror at what she had just done.
One of the things we talk about a lot at Buttoned Up is delegation and getting everyone to pitch in more so you don’t have quite so much to do yourself.
Myself Belts help out with just that. Lucy can now do her own belt in the morning and it is one of the last steps in her being able to do everything for herself in the morning. It saves me time but more importantly, it makes her feel good about what she can do!
Here is how they work:
1. Snap the end of the belt around the front belt loop (so the belt stays in place
2. Slide the rest of the belt through the remaining loops
3. Secure the belt closed with the Velcro
It is really that easy.
And now when you go to Myself Belts use code: button and get 10% off. Give it a try and please come back and comment and let us know what you think. Next up for Lucy is a personalized one (that we pay for). She can’t wait.
